If you’re struggling to lose weight in the new year, you might want to put down the kale and try the newest diet fad—the taco cleanse. Yes, you heard that right. Unlike other cleanses, this diet plan actually encourages you to load up on tortillas, refried beans and guacamole! Sound almost too good to be true? Well, there are a couple things you should know about the cleanse before you start sending taco emojis to all your friends.
Authors Wes Allison, Stephanie Bogdanich, Molly R. Frisinger and Jessica Morris of The Taco Cleanse: The Tortilla-Based Diet Proven To Change Your Life found that eating tacos three meals a day for an entire month helped them lose weight. However, there’s one catch: You have to kiss those carnitas goodbye. This diet is strictly vegan, although we have to admit that the 75 recipes in the book do look delicious.
The book, which is actually sold out on Amazon, promises to show you how to make your own delicious tortillas, how to create tasty fillings like beer-battered portobello mushrooms, and even how to whip up diet-approved margaritas.

Need further proof? Jennifer Aniston recently revealed that she is “riveted” by the taco cleanse and that she has already ordered the book. While we’re waiting for ours to arrive, we have to say it sounds like a doable start to a diet or at least worth experimenting.
