Probably you know many ways how to use avocado. You can combine it very nicely with savory, sour or sweet recipes. What other fruit can be used for guacamole and baked goods? Because of this, there’s a reason avocados are so beloved. These three recipes take advantage of its versatility.
This is the fruit that just keeps on giving. Because one avocado has as much potassium as two large bananas, it’s helping you replace what you lose of the mineral during your workout. It has lots of healthy unsaturated fat, too.
Below you can find some new ways how to use your fresh avocado.
1. Cocktail with blended avocado and tequila
- 2 1/2 oz tequila
- 1 oz triple sec
- Fresh cilantro
- 1 oz lime juice
- 1/2 ripe avocado
- 1 oz lemon juice
In a blender: lemon juice, pulse tequila, triple sec, and lime juice. Add a few cilantro leaves and avocado and blend. Pour into a your favorite glass.
2. Chocolate truffles with avocado and dark chocolate.
- 10 oz dark chocolate
- 2-3 ripe avocados
- 5 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 pinches salt
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2-3 tablespoons cocoa powder
First of all, chop dark chocolate and melt in a saucepan and stirring occasionally. In a food processor, process the scooped flesh of the avocados, proceed until it’s smooth. To melted chocolate, add avocado, 2 tablespoons cocoa powder, brown sugar, salt, and vanilla extract. Stir until all ingredients are combined. Refrigerate for about 40 minutes, or until mixture is cool. Cut a large square piece of parchment and pour 1/2 tablespoon cocoa powder onto it. Roll a tablespoon-size scoop of the chocolate mixture into a ball. Finally, coat in cocoa powder and place on a plate. Proceed with remaining chocolate and cocoa powder.
3. Prepare a creamy breakfast
- 2-3 ripe avocados
- 1 teaspoon chopped fresh tarragon
- 4 1/2 oz goat cheese
- 1 lemon, juiced
- Pinch of salt
Blend 1 1/2 ripe avocados, together with the lemon juice, goat cheese and salt into a food processor. Proceed with this until smooth. Then dice the remaining avocado and fold it into the blended mixture along with the tarragon. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve. You can use it on any kind of bread.
